Despite its high brightness and image quality, the PT-RQ35K series is the smallest and lightest 3-chip DLP™ product range in its class and can be transported and installed by two people. Save labour and enjoy more convenience when space is limited. The PT-RQ35K series is 40% smaller than the current PT-RQ32K and its footprint is almost the same as the PT-RQ22K. With its manageable size and weight, the PT-RQ35K series offers exciting possibilities for high brightness projections in places where installation space is limited.

Smart Projector Control app

The Smart Projector Control is a remote control app for iOS and Android™ devices1 that allows up to 64 projectors to be configured and operated individually or collectively from any location within Wi-Fi range. The projector can be easily connected to the Wi-Fi via the app by scanning a QR code on the projector’s information display without having to enter the SSID and password manually2. Once connected, the device can be switched on and off, the input signal selected and the OSD menu settings adjusted via the mobile device’s touchscreen, even when the projector is in standby mode. This helps installers save time when the OSD menu cannot be projected and allows an entire fleet of projectors to be set up while other event components are installed in parallel. In addition to controlling the OSD menu, the app offers the ability to adjust lens settings, select test patterns and focus the projection from a distance of up to 30 m4 (98 ft) using the smartphone camera3.

NFC function

The PT-RQ35K series projectors can be connected to a smartphone via NFC* (Near Field Communication), even when the projector is switched off and not connected to the power supply. Simply hold the smartphone to the projector’s NFC field. With the Smart Projector Control app, certain settings such as the projector ID and IP address can then be customised in advance while you wait for the power supply and the start of setup. This allows fleets of projectors to be configured in advance for immediate network connection and deployed as soon as they are powered up at the installation site, saving both time and resources. After the event, while the projectors are unplugged and ready to be packaged, they can be reset directly to factory settings – a process that previously required a projection of the OSD menu.

Remote preview for a smooth start to your event

Remote preview allows projectionists to check the incoming video signal by viewing thumbnails of the input signal on a laptop before projection begins. Remote preview can be accessed via software or a web browser and is available when the projector is in standby mode or when the shutter is closed. This feature is particularly useful at events such as concerts where the ability to check the content on the screen is limited by stage traffic and other logistical constraints. The remote preview helps to reduce the likelihood of errors before the performance and, if an error is detected, to identify the cause of the fault more quickly.

Quiet mode reduces projection noise

The PT-RQ35K series offers a quiet mode for applications in environments such as museums and theatres where full brightness is not required and background noise should be minimal. In this mode, the operating noise is reduced by 3 dB compared to normal mode. This audible difference makes a significant contribution to reducing distractions in immersive projection environments. In addition, this mode extends the operating time to up to 26,000 hours until 50% of the original light output is reached.
